Neelavali Haar | नीलावलीहार
Neela (नीला) — deep blue / indigo | Vali (वली) — garland / row / cascade | Haar (हार) — necklace / garland | Pronounced: NEE-lah VAH-li Haar
A handcrafted demi-fine graduated bib necklace composed entirely of lapis lazuli — in round beads, marquise navette slabs, and large flat teardrop shield pendants — alternating with freshwater rice pearls and baroque keshi pearls throughout — in 925 Silver Plated.
The Design
Neelavali Haar — meaning “the cascade of deep blue” — is an exercise in graduated stone architecture. The necklace is built in three distinct lapis lazuli forms that increase in scale from back to front: small polished round beads at the back and sides establish the foundation; slim marquise / navette slabs in the mid-section begin the fanning bib silhouette; and large flat teardrop shield pendants at the centre front deliver the full drama of the piece, their deep indigo surface dense with the characteristic golden pyrite flecks and grey cloud veining that distinguish quality lapis lazuli. The overall effect is that of a graduated collar that fans outward at the chest — architectural, deliberate, and deeply rooted in the lapidary tradition of Indian jewellery.
Between every lapis element, freshwater pearls alternate throughout the full strand — small rice seed pearls between the round beads and marquise slabs, and larger baroque keshi pearls between the teardrop pendants at the front. The pearl cream-white provides a continuous tonal relief against the saturated indigo, creating a rhythmic contrast that prevents the piece from reading as heavy despite its generous scale. The necklace closes with a spring ring clasp and silver rolo extender chain finished with a single baroque freshwater pearl finial.
Craft & Material
Handcrafted entirely in India by highly skilled karigars, Neelavali Haar is made in high-quality brass alloy — anti-allergic and skin-friendly — and finished in your choice of 925 Silver Plated, 22k Gold Plated, Rose Gold Plated, or Black Rhodium Plated. Each plated finish is sealed with a protective e-coating for tarnish and wear resistance. The lapis lazuli stones are natural — round beads, marquise slabs, and teardrop pendants — each with the characteristic deep indigo colour, golden pyrite flecks, and natural veining of genuine lapis lazuli. The pearls are natural freshwater pearls in rice and baroque keshi forms. No two pieces are mechanically identical — natural minor variations in stone tone, veining pattern, and pearl form are inherent to handmade production and are not defects.
Why It Sells
Lapis lazuli is one of the oldest and most culturally revered gemstones in the world — its deep indigo with golden pyrite is immediately recognisable and carries strong associations with luxury, royalty, and ancient Indian, Egyptian, and Persian jewellery traditions. The graduated bib construction is a proven high-conversion format in wholesale jewellery — it photographs with exceptional visual impact, fills the neckline, and delivers a statement-piece presence that commands attention on any retail display or e-commerce page. The alternating freshwater pearl construction adds perceived value and softens the piece for broader wear occasions including weddings, events, and formal styling. Four finish options allow a single design to serve multiple consumer segments and price points. The 925 Silver Plated finish as photographed gives this piece a cool, contemporary tone that differentiates it within the Narmae range.
