The Design

Somāpadmā — meaning “She Who Is Moon and Lotus” — is built in three descending tiers, each a distinct motif unified by 22k Gold Plated and a carefully chosen palette of semiprecious stones. At the top, an engraved rectangular bar — detailed with fine scrollwork — suspends two red tourmaline beads that catch the light with every movement. From the bar falls the centrepiece: a large domed medallion in repousé gold, its surface fluted and ruffled at the edge in the manner of classical Indian goldsmithing, commanding attention without demanding it.

Below the medallion hangs the crescent — a chand bali-inspired crescent moon form set with five faceted peridots along its arc, their yellow-green luminosity contrasting warmly against the gold. At the heart of the crescent sits a pronged flower setting holding a faceted crystal quartz, clear and light-catching. The pendant completes with a pear-shaped garnet drop, deep red and transparent, swinging freely at the lowest point.
