The Design

Candrāvarta — meaning “Moon Spiral” — centres on a single pear-shaped white rainbow moonstone whose face has been carved by hand into a nautilus spiral: concentric curved ridges radiating outward from an off-centre circular eye, the same sacred geometry found in shells, galaxies, and the ancient Indian āvarta motif. The carving does not interrupt the stone’s adularescence — the blue-white flash that moves across the moonstone’s surface with every shift of light — but works with it, the carved ridges catching and redirecting the glow in rippling arcs. The result is a stone that appears to be in motion even when still.

The stone is set in a minimal four-prong mount — two prongs at the shoulders, two at the tip and base of the pear — that holds it clean and elevated above the band with no gallery walls obscuring the stone’s edges or depth. The band is diagonal herringbone-engraved: a tight repeating chevron texture cut into the shank that adds visual weight and craft detail without adding volume.
