The Design

Chakraelā — meaning “Star Anise & Cardamom” — is a ring built entirely from the spice garden. At its centre sits a large cast star anise: eight elongated petals radiating from a central point, each one deeply ribbed along its length and fully three-dimensional, domed on the face and hollow beneath in the manner of the actual dried spice. The form is architectural — perfectly symmetrical, immediately recognisable — and in 22k Gold Plated it reads as both botanical and solar, the star form carrying associations of both the spice market and classical Indian sun motifs.

Above the star anise, three cardamom pods cluster on a naturalistic stem: two smaller pods flanking a central larger one, each individually cast with the same deep longitudinal ribbing that runs across the star anise petals below. The pods are proportioned as they appear in nature — elongated, slightly tapered, their surface defined entirely by the ribbing rather than by any additional engraving. On the finger — as shown in the editorial photograph — the full botanical cluster rises dramatically from the knuckle, the pods projecting upward and outward in a form that draws the eye immediately and holds it.

Handcrafted entirely in India by highly skilled karigars, Chakraelā is made in high-quality brass alloy — anti-allergic and skin-friendly — and finished in 22k Gold Plated as photographed, or your choice of 925 Silver Plated, Rose Gold Plated, or Black Rhodium Plated. Each plated finish is sealed with a protective e-coating for tarnish and wear resistance. The star anise form and each cardamom pod are individually cast; the ribbed band is hand-finished. No two pieces are mechanically identical — natural minor variations in cast surface texture, rib definition, and finish character are inherent to handmade production and are not defects.
