Chakralācī | चक्रलाची
Chakra (चक्र) — wheel / star / the radiating form of star anise | Lācī (लाची) — cardamom / elaichi, the spice pod | Pronounced: CHAK-ra-LAA-chee
A handcrafted brass-alloy demi-fine botanical stud earring — two individually cast spice forms: one broken star anise segment and one cardamom pod, deeply ribbed, arranged as a compact cluster in 22k Gold Plated. No stones. Pure goldwork. Stud post fitting.
The Design
Chakralācī — meaning “Star Anise & Cardamom” — is the stud companion to Chakraelā, drawn from the same spice garden but composed in miniature. The earring pairs exactly two spice forms: a broken star anise segment — one single elongated ribbed pod, broad at its base, its surface worked with the same deep longitudinal ribbing as the whole spice — and a single cardamom pod above it, slim, pointed, and ribbed along its full length. Two forms, two botanicals, one compact cluster at the ear.
The pairing is precise and intentional — the broader, rounded star anise segment grounds the cluster at the base, while the slimmer cardamom pod rises above it, giving the stud a quiet vertical movement that prevents it from reading as flat. In 22k Gold Plated the ribbing catches light along every ridge, giving the earring a textural richness that rewards close attention. As shown across both the Western editorial and the Indian model in the green sari, Chakralācī sits naturally across a wide range of styling contexts — from draped silk to bare skin, from formal to everyday.
Craft & Material
Handcrafted entirely in India by highly skilled karigars, Chakralācī is made in high-quality brass alloy — anti-allergic and skin-friendly — and finished in 22k Gold Plated as photographed, or your choice of 925 Silver Plated, Rose Gold Plated, or Black Rhodium Plated. Each plated finish is sealed with a protective e-coating for tarnish and wear resistance. Each spice form is individually cast; the two-piece cluster is hand-assembled and finished. No two pieces are mechanically identical — natural minor variations in cast surface texture, rib definition, and finish character are inherent to handmade production and are not defects.
Why It Sells
The spice botanical stud occupies a commercially underserved niche in the global demi-fine earring market — distinctive without being difficult, culturally specific without being inaccessible, and compact enough to be an impulse purchase at any wholesale price point. The two-form cluster — broken star anise and cardamom together — creates an immediately legible botanical narrative in a stud format that is rare at this price tier. As the stud companion to Chakraelā, it enables set-selling — ring and earring together as a spice botanical suite — which significantly increases average order value in a wholesale context. The pure goldwork construction — no stones — makes it finish-agnostic: all four finishes are equally strong, and the ribbed surface reads well in every colour. The stud post fitting makes it appropriate for all-day, every-day wear, broadening its commercial range beyond occasion jewellery.
