The Design

Hridayapalasha — meaning “the heart of the sacred leaf” — is a ring of pure sculptural goldwork, requiring no stone to command the finger. The centrepiece is a fully three-dimensional cast gold form that reads simultaneously as a sacred heart, a lotus bud, and a heraldic device: a smooth domed heart shape, its upper edge finished with a raised lotus petal crown from which a small pointed finial rises, its full perimeter edged with a fine beaded milgrain rope border that catches light in a continuous sparkle around the entire heart silhouette. The form is at once devotional and architectural — it carries the visual vocabulary of the Milagro sacred heart, the Indian lotus bud, and European heraldic goldwork in a single coherent object.

From the base of the heart, the ring opens into two large cast gold leaf wings — broad, flat, their surfaces worked with fine vein and rib detail, spreading wide and symmetrically outward from the plain open-back band shank. The leaves extend well beyond the width of the ring itself, framing the heart form above them like a botanical crown and giving the ring a sculptural footprint on the hand that is entirely distinctive.
