The Design

Indrashankhā Haar — meaning “Indra’s iridescent shell” — is named for the celestial iridescence shared by its two principal materials: labradorite and abalone shell. Both stones are defined by their capacity to shift colour with light and angle — the labradorite cycling through teal, deep blue, and violet; the abalone shell flashing jade green, peacock blue, and warm violet-pink. The necklace is constructed to showcase this iridescent quality at two distinct scales and in two distinct forms, building a layered conversation between the two materials across the full length of the pendant.

The upper pendant is a large oval labradorite cabochon of deep teal-black, its surface carved with a sun face and floral motif in shallow relief — the carving catching light differently at each angle, amplifying the stone’s labradorescence into a continuously shifting display.
