Kasmīravallī | कश्मीरवल्ली
Kasmīra (कश्मीर) — Kashmir / the valley of saffron | Vallī (वल्ली) — creeper / a trailing vine / a sinuous form | Pronounced: kush-MEER-a VUL-lee
A handcrafted brass-alloy demi-fine link bracelet with five large embossed domed gold paisley boteh links — each with raised feather vein and scrollwork relief and a beaded milgrain rope border — set in alternating orientation on a lobster clasp chain with extender. No stones. Pure goldwork — in 22k Gold Plated.
The Design
Kasmīravallī — meaning “the Kashmiri vine” — takes its name and its form from the paisley, the boteh motif whose origins lie in the woven shawls of Kashmir and whose curved teardrop silhouette has been one of the most widely travelling decorative forms in the history of global ornament. The bracelet is built from five large cast gold paisley links, each fully three-dimensional and domed — their surface carrying a deeply embossed relief of feather veins and a small scrolling curl at the pointed tip, the relief work standing proud of the domed surface in a continuous raised pattern that catches directional light across every curve. Each paisley is edged with a fine beaded milgrain rope border running the full perimeter of the form, adding a further register of gold texture at the boundary between each link and the open negative space between them.
The five paisleys are arranged in alternating orientation — each one curving in the opposite direction to its neighbour — creating an interlocking, scale-like rhythm across the bracelet face that reads as both structured and organic. On the wrist — as shown in the editorial photograph — the bracelet sits wide and flat, its alternating paisley faces presenting a continuously varied gold surface with no dead angle. The lobster clasp and short extender chain allow the bracelet to be worn at two lengths. It is a bracelet of immediate visual authority and considerable craft density, achieved without a single stone.
Craft & Material
Handcrafted entirely in India by highly skilled karigars, Kasmīravallī is made in high-quality brass alloy — anti-allergic and skin-friendly — and finished in your choice of 22k Gold Plated, 925 Silver Plated, Rose Gold Plated, or Black Rhodium Plated. Each plated finish is sealed with a protective e-coating for tarnish and wear resistance. The embossed paisley relief and milgrain border are hand-refined after casting. No two pieces are mechanically identical — natural minor variations in embossed relief definition, milgrain border character, and finish tone are inherent to handmade production and are not defects.
Why It Sells
The paisley / boteh motif is one of the most commercially durable decorative forms in global fashion and jewellery — it carries simultaneous resonance across South Asian heritage luxury, Western maximalist jewellery, and the broader global market for India-origin craft objects. Its recognisability is unmatched: it is a motif that buyers identify immediately and associate with quality, tradition, and considered design. Embossed relief goldwork — as opposed to flat stamped or plain cast forms — is perceived as a premium production technique; the raised surface detail signals hand-craft investment and rewards close inspection in a way that flat gold cannot. The alternating paisley orientation creates a bracelet with a distinctive silhouette that is immediately identifiable from a distance and in thumbnail photography. Pure goldwork with no stones is a strong wholesale proposition — it eliminates stone variability, reduces per-unit production complexity, and allows the bracelet to sit at a clean, consistent price point across all finish options. Four finish options allow a single design to serve multiple consumer segments and price points. The 22k Gold Plated finish delivers the visual register of fine gold jewellery at a competitive wholesale price.
