The Design

Mauktika-Ratnavali is a hand-strung single-strand necklace composed of alternating baroque freshwater coin pearls and multicolour tourmaline beads. The tourmalines present across a spectrum of pink, green, watermelon, red, cranberry, and smoky hues. The flat, irregular coin pearls carry a soft peacock iridescence, laid between smaller oval tourmalines in a casual rainbow sequence with no strict symmetric repeat.

Each bead is individually knotted on the cord, a traditional technique that secures individual stones, prevents loss if the strand breaks, and contributes to the fluid drape of the piece. The necklace terminates in a lobster-claw clasp with an adjustable cable-chain extender, finished with a single light-blue aquamarine accent bead — allowing flexible length styling without altering the strand.
