The Design

Surya Pankha — meaning “the sun fan” — is a piece rooted in the ancient Indian tradition of solar iconography rendered in gold. The earring opens with a round coin stud bearing a hand-detailed embossed sun deity face — serene, eyes closed, radiating calm authority. Below it, a substantial semi-circular fan body fans outward in a bold, architectural sweep, its surface worked in deeply embossed radiating fluted ribs with a granulation bead border running the full perimeter.

From three points along the base of the fan, carved Mother of Pearl leaf drops hang freely — each leaf hand-carved with a central rib and feathered detailing, catching light with the soft iridescent lustre characteristic of fine Mother of Pearl. The combination of warm 22k Gold Plated and the cool, luminous white of the Mother of Pearl creates a high-contrast pairing that reads beautifully both in person and in photography.
