The Design

Vanaratna Haar — meaning “the jewel of the forest” — is a piece built around the ancient Indian tradition of honouring the natural world through ornament. Seven individual cast gold wildlife charms hang freely along a hammered bar-and-link chain — reading from left to right: a horse, a lion face, a dolphin, a jaguar, a bird, an elephant, and a firefly — each a fully detailed miniature sculpture rendered with characteristic posture and surface detail. The charms are distributed at intervals along the chain, creating a dynamic drop rhythm that moves with the wearer.

Between the charms, small faceted green onyx round beads are strung directly onto the chain at regular intervals, their deep forest green providing a botanical grounding to the gold wildlife composition. The combination of living creature charms and green stone stations creates a complete world unto itself — land, sky, and water represented in a single piece of jewellery.
